On 7th July 2022, the Jewish Religious Community in Krakow represented by Michał Zajda and Michał Zieliński took part in celebrations of the 80th anniversary remembering the Jewish deportation from the Rzeszow ghetto. The March of Remembrance and the unveiling of a plaque at the Rzeszow Staroniwa station was organised by Stowarzyszenie Rajsze, Fundacja Rzeszowska and Stowarzyszenie Działamy Rzeszów. The honorary patronage over the event was taken by Konrad Fiołek, Mayor of Rzeszów, who also participated in the celebrations. Other attendees included: Vice-provincial governor of Podkarpacie Radosław Wiatr, a representative of the Podkarpacie voivodeship marshal Waldemar Szumny, the University of Agriculture professor, PhD.Wacław Wierzbienic as well as several local activists. On 17th June 2022, celebrations of the anniversary remembering the holocaust of the Tarnów Jews began at noon, at the Buczyna Memorial in Zbylitowska Góra. Tadeusz Jakubowicz , Chairman of the Board of the Jewish Religious Community in Krakow, said: 80 years ago, occupiers turned the Jews’ lives into hell. Were these people bad? No, they were not. They were simply Jews. Today, 27 August 2021, based on an initiative of the Mayor of Wieliczka, Artut Kozioł, a ceremony was undertaken remembering the murdered Jews of Wieliczka and its surroundings, may they rest in peace. The Jewish Community of Kraków was represented by a delegation headed by Chairman of the Board Tadeusz Jakubowicz.
A ceremony remembering the anniversary of the liquidation of the Ghetto in Gorlice took place on 19 August 2021, out of an initiative by the mayor of the town, Rafał Kukli, attended by representatives and by the Chairman of the Jewish Religious Community of Kraków, Tadeusz Jakubowicz.

Present were the major, Mariusz Szewczyk; the president of the Dębica administrative region, Piotr Chęciek and Mr. Ireneusz Socha, who has been remembering the Jewish community in Dębica for many years. The Jewish Community of Kraków was represented by its Chairman of the Board, Tadeusz Jakubowicz, and Mr Adam Klimek. The Germans undertook the liquidation of the ghetto in Dębica from 21 to 25 July 1942. A few days before they collected the identity papers, which were held by the Gestapo. BS”D 11 Av 5781 The funeral of professor Leonard Neuger took place today in the in the New Jewish Cemetery on ul. Miodowa 55 in Kraków, the city where he was born. He was a historian of literature and a translator. He studied Polish literature in 1965-71 at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków and defended his doctoral thesis in 1978 in the Silesian University in Katowice. In 1993 he became an assistant professor in the University of Stockholm and a full professor in 1995. In 2003 he became the director of the Institute for Slavic studies at the University of Stockholm. During the uprisings of the 1980s in Poland he was arrested and emigrated to Sweden in 1983. Last Friday, 11 June 2021, Counsellor Tal Ben-Ari Yaalon, Chargé d’Affaires, a.i., of the Embassy of Israel in Poland visited Mr Tadeusz Jakubowicz, Chairman of the Board of the Jewish Religious Community in Kraków, in his office. Counsellor Ben-Air Yaalon was warmly received and had an interesting discussion with our Chairman of the Board, touching on future projects for the Jews in Kraków.
